Welsh Water Work at Craig Goch Dam
What can you expect?
The time has now come to progress to our main phase of the project which includes work to the pipes and valves which form part of the dam. This phase of our work will begin on Monday 13th June, and we aim to finish in January 2023, dependant on the weather conditions.
Nearby residents may notice additional traffic from our teams in the area, but please be assured that we will use mitigation measures where possible to keep disruption to a minimum. If anything changes, we’ll make sure to let you know.
We’ll be working with our contractors, Morgan Sindall and their supply chain to get the work done. The work will take place from Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:30pm, but there may be times they need to work outside of these hours.
To keep the team and motorists safe, the road across Craig Goch Dam will be closed to motor vehicles only for the duration of the work from June 13th to early 2023. However, tenant farmers, equestrians, pedestrians, and cyclists will still be able to use this road.
In addition, from June 20th to July 4th, there will be two-way traffic lights in place on the west side of the dam, as can be shown in the map.
