Elan Links: Volunteer Archivist
Are you interested in local history? and do you have reasonable computer skills?
We are looking for a volunteer to help with the exciting archive project at the Elan Links.
Job Summary: Catalogue archive material onto Modes database. Material to be catalogued includes historic documents, maps, photographs and artefacts from the Elan Valley area.
Person specification: Good computer skills and an interest in local history.
Time commitment: 5-10 hrs / 1-2 days per week.
Role availability: Weekdays
Expenses: Travelling expenses will be paid
Training in the use of the Modes database will be provided by the Archivist.
The Elan Links Archive Project aims to protect, record and celebrate Elan’s cultural heritage material which includes documents, memories, pictures and artefacts.
The successful volunteer will assist the archivist to record information onto the archive database. The majority of work will take place at CARAD and the Elan Valley Estate Office, however some additional onsite work around Rhayader and Elan Valley may be necessary.
