Tree D Scanning Workshop for Seniors

Event date:
10 September 2019 to 13 September 2019
Event time:
10am - 1pm

This fun, free workshop, taking place over two days, is led by Elan Links' newest artists in residence, Anna and Adri.

The first day, taking place at CARAD from 10am - 1pm, will involve having conversations about forests, and their meaning in our lives. There will also be an introduction to virtual reality, using VR goggles to experience forests previously captured in the Netherlands and Elan Valley.

The second day, meeting at the Elan Links' office in Elan Village from 10am - 1pm, will include a brief introduction to the different tools and techniques used in 3D scanning, before visiting  nearby woods to learn how to scan and capture plants.

The workshop is part of an artist in residence project and will continue in December. The materials created in the workshop will be used in the final presentation at the end of the residency program.

No previous knowledge required. If you have a camera, feel free to bring it along. Outdoor clothing and footwear recommended for the second day.

Maximum of 10 places available - to book contact or call 01597 811 527
