What can you expect?
The time has now come to progress to our main phase of the project which includes work to the pipes and valves which form part of the dam. This phase of our work will begin on Monday 13th June, and we aim to finish in January 2023, dependant on the weather conditions.
Nearby residents may notice additional traffic from our teams in the area, but please be assured that we will use mitigation measures where possible to keep disruption to a minimum. If anything changes, we’ll make sure to let you know.

Join Terry Smith for a hands-on day of map and compass reading. With both theory and practical application this workshop will improve your understanding of maps and access to the countryside. Look Across Wales / Edrych ar Draws Cymru

A moderate 7 mile walk with one off track grassland section and steep downslope. Starting at Dol y Mynach car park, we walk up the Rhiwnant Valley and make our way to the track heading towards the highest point on the Elan Estate, Drygarn Fawr, at 641m above sea level. Weather permitting, we will be able to see the Irish Sea, and turning our heads we will be able to view the Black Mountains on the England/Wales border, therefore looking along a 55 mile diagonal line from one side of Wales to the other.
Hwyl ar Y Foel

An undulating circular hill walk of some 7.5 miles beginning with a visit to the WWII pillboxes and continuing to the summit cairn and slopes of Y Foel and surrounds. In clear weather the views are spectacular. Please bring a packed lunch. Meet at Coed y Foel Car Park, SN 914645.
