Wildlife Tracking and Field Skills Course - tracks, trails, signs and cameras. Autumn Part 1.

Join a Countryside Ranger to learn about the art of wildlife tracking. Have an opportunity to learn about the skills required to catch that animal on film!

This event will start at Llannerch y Cawr car park at 10am, finish at 12.30pm. Suitable for budding wildlife detectives of all ages.

Watercolour Weekend

20 Sat More Watercolour Landscape Painting.

Whether you are looking for an exciting new challenge or just wish to improve your watercolour painting skills then this one-day workshop is for you. There will be step-by-step demonstrations on various techniques and how best to use them.  This will be followed by tuition in painting your own landscape projects. This workshop is suitable for beginners or the more experienced.

 

21 Sun Painting in the Heart of Wales

Discover the fascination of this area for the watercolour landscape artist. Using photographic reference, drawings and a little imagination you will learn how to paint this beautiful landscape. This will cover composition, perspective and colour. There will be demonstrations and step-by-step tuition throughout the day.

 

Project Packs and some material will be provided for a cost of £8 for each day which is payable in advance, details at time of booking. The day will be led by local artist and teacher David Ward.

10am - 4pm both days at the Visitor Centre.

25 Thur Radnorshire Wildlife Trust's Annual Barnes Memorial Lecture

Red Squirrels and Brownsea Island Nature Reserve. You've seen them on BBC Autumnwatch, now get an up-close and personal perspective from Island Warden, Chris Thain.

Tickets available from the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust (01597 823298) or on the door: £5 RWT members; £10 non-members; children and full-time students free. 7.30pm start at the Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod Wells.

Call into the Visitor Centre anytime between 11am and 4pm to pick up your collecting bag with instructions about what to do.

This is a family event - no unaccompanied children please.

28 Sun Hawksdrift (as seen on BBC Dragons' Den)

Hawksdrift Falconry, established and developed by Layla Bennett; this Builth Wells Company has grown from small beginnings to become a provider of national falconry services. Hawksdrift will be displaying a range of beautiful birds of prey.

Layla will be at the static stand all day and is always pleased to chat about falconry, birds of prey and conservation issues. The demonstrations provide an insight into the world of falconry. Audience participation is a main part of the demonstrations with spectators being invited into the arena to participate in flying, handling and to get breathtakingly close to these magnificent birds.

31 Wed Spooky Spectacular Halloween Crafts

Come along and make your own scary accessories and decorations in time for Halloween.

Drop in anytime between 10am and 12noon or 2pm and 4pm at the Visitor Centre.
